VANCOUVER--Wednesday, Oct 7, 2009--Law Schools around the world are invited to participate in a Smartsettle One competition hosted by the International eNegotiation Tournament at Cyberweek 2009 (Oct 26-30). Winners will be announced after Cyberweek closes.

The objective of the competition is to contrast traditional adversarial negotiation methods with the advantages of early intervention and collaboration using technology:

• higher settlement rates
• time and cost savings
• improved relationships

The competition will engage participants in a simulation using Smartsettle One to settle a dispute between a homeowner and a contractor as an alternative to the Small Claims Court.

All Cyberweek attendees may join the competition independently any time during Cyberweek. Instructors who wish to coach their students and compete as a group should register first so that their students can associate themselves with their own group. Whether as independent players or as part of a group, every student will negotiate their own cases. Those in a group may collaborate among themselves to form a strategy to perform better than other groups.
